Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can any woman join Delta Phi Epsilon?

Yes! Delta Phi Epsilon does NOT discriminate on bases of race, creed, religion, origin, age or disability. We encourage diversity among our Sisters because each Sister brings their unique culture and personality to our organization.

2. Does Delta Phi Epsilon haze?

Delta Phi Epsilon firmly adheres to a strict NO-hazing policy. We do not tolerate hazing in any form and DPHIE firmly believes in a sisterhood that fosters love and support for one another.

3. What are Delta Phi Epsilon's beliefs?

DPhiE is based on the values of love, loyalty, integrity, honesty, and scholastic excellence. Delta Phi Epsilon embraces each member's unique personality and traits, so there is no reason to try and be someone you are not. Our Principles are based on what we call the "Five S's" which we incorporate into everything we do. Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service, Social and Self. The Five S's make our sisterhood very unique and well-rounded.

4. What makes Delta Phi Epsilon different from other sororities on campus?

DPhiE is the only international sorority at Concordia which means that we have sisters not only in our chapter but in the United States and Canada as well. Why is this so great? Delta Phi Epsilon sisters share a bond that lasts for a lifetime, no matter which chapter you are from and networking with fellow Sisters is great for your career or visiting other parts of the country! We hold leadership conferences that include seminars so the women of DPhiE can enhance their leadership not only at a community level, but at an international level as well. Delta Phi Epsilon is the only sorority on campus that bases itself on the "Five S's" which encourages our Sisterhood and its members to be leaders and well-rounded individuals. Delta Phi Epsilon has members of all different backgrounds, personalities, majors and ages.

5. Will my grades suffer if I join?

No, Delta Phi Epsilon offers many benefits to help you further your education. We have the best academic standard for Sisters to remain active. DPhiE offers weekly study sessions so Sisters and New Members can help each other with school work and academic scholarships through the Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Fund. Academics ALWAYS come first with DPhiE. Without academics, our sorority wouldn't exist in the first place.

6. What happens after I accept a bid from Delta Phi Epsilon?

DPhiE's New Members go through what is called our PEARL Program (Personal Enrichment Activities for Responsible Living). Our PEARL Program is based on our ideals of community and scholastic development for all collegiate members: Sisterhood, Scholarship, Social, Service, and Self. We incorporate the "Five S's" even after the PEARL Program is completed.

7. What are the requirements to join Delta Phi Epsilon?

Women interested in Delta Phi Epsilon must be undergraduate students who are enrolled in classes. In addition, they must maintain a 2.25 GPA in order to remain active. Sisters wishing to be part of the executive board must maintain a 2.5 GPA.

8. What types of opportunities does Delta Phi Epsilon offer after college?

Joining Delta Phi Epsilon is a lifelong commitment with lifetime benefits. Following graduation, members can find DPhiE Alumni Chapters. These alumni chapters offer the continuation of the friendship and experiences with DPhiE. Being part of Delta Phi Epsilon is also great for networking with Sisters in other parts of the nation, and even in the United States.
